Ferris Wheel Kit

At this point, this is when my LED obsession became clear. I’m not complaining.

This project adds a motor to add some rotation to the LEDs. Let’s go!

Armed with a blank PCB and a bag FULL of LEDs, I got to work!

A cool addition is the IR remote. This allows you to change the patterns from a distance.

My first problem was that upon power up, it didn’t work.

After some investigating, I realized that there was plastic that as acting as an insulator between the motor and the PCB. The way the motor electrically connects with the PCB is via a pogo pin or something. As it rotates, it draws an outline around the PCB it is mounted to. Similar to a record player. Smart design!
